Fawley Parish Council recently entered the Hampshire Association of Local Councils Village of the Year 2022 competition and is thrilled to receive awards in two different categories as well as their nomination for the Inspiring Places category winning too!

Cllr Allan Glass, Chairman of Estates and Facilities Committee said “The sensory garden at the front of Jubilee Hall has won Best Open Space; this is a wonderful community space that was funded by a £2,000 contribution from ExxonMobil Fawley.  I hope that people can pop by and see how lovely it is”

Cllr Alan Alvey, Chairman of Council is delighted that the very low cost, but fantastic  Armed Forces Day event was runner up in the Best Community Event Competition.  “This is the ninth year that the Council had provided this free to attend event that is well supported by this community.  I am proud of our Council for recognising the work of our Armed Forces and we are already planning for Armed Forces Day 2023”

The Parish Council nominated Copthorne Nursey in Fawley as an Inspiring Place for the work they undertake there; all the plants used in the Parish come from the nursery.  Cllr Alvey said “It feels so right that the council and the nursery work together to create some wonderful flower displays.  A visit to the plant nursery to see everyone in action is well worth a trip!
