concerns - post box

A member of the public provided the following report: A sign has appeared on the post box at the entrance to the Hardley Industrial Estate stating that from 13 June the collection times will change from 5:30pm to 4:00pm. This post box has a wide opening for larger letters and the nearest box to this is the Co-Op in Holbury with a collection time of 5:15pm but has restrictions on access and parking. The post box at Netley View has a narrow opening and the collection time is 5:00pm. They have already changed the times of collections at a post box in Lime Kiln Lane from 4:45pm to 9:00am in the morning.

The post box on the Hardley Industrial Estate is well used, and several staff from local businesses use this post box on their journey home from work at 4:30pm to 5:15pm. As they will be collecting the post from the post box in Long Lane 750yds away by Hallum’s at 5:15pm could they not program the Hardley Industrial collection at the same time?  Cllr Wappet suggested the council should be stronger in its communication and demand it is reconsidered rather than ask. There is a telephone number on the post box to ring this is 03457 740740.
