Overview

Fawley Youth Club

Fawley Parish Council and its volunteers run Fawley Youth Life at Gang Warily Recreation Centre for 11-16yr olds. Currently it has about 60 members who mostly live in the Fawley Parish, and predominately attend New Forest Academy.

Youth Club is held weekly on Friday evenings during term time from 5:30pm to 7:00pm at Gang Warily Recreation Centre. This also allows the young people direct access to the all weather courts, Skate park and Basketball Hoop which are extremely popular with them all.

Members pay £1 entry and this is reinvested into the Youth Club and used for equipment and activities that the Young People have requested. During the session we provide a Tuck shop offering crisps, chocolates and sugar free drinks. Arts and Crafts are available for those who want to participate in quiet activities and music is played all night. We also provide access on rotation to pool and Air Hockey.

We encourage and support older young people to volunteer and help at Youth Club and Holiday Projects. We offer them a certificate for volunteering in their community. They can use this in their record of achievement for school, or their personal statement for U.C.A.S.

Holiday Club

Fawley Youth Life and its volunteers run a Holiday Club during school holidays on the majority of Mondays and Thursdays from 10:30am to 12:30pm. These sessions are located at the Queen Elizabeth Recreation Ground in Blackfield and allow attendees of all ages exclusive access to the adjacent park and communal access to the fields.

These sessions are completely free to all and offer an arts and crafts station with a planned activity, sports activity outside (weather permitting) and a Clay Station with Crank Pots during some sessions. The Dibden allotment fund also provides a healthy free meal to all young people who attend.
